Maplelane Farm is an organic community farm, thriving on an exchange of support with the community of friends and neighbours whom it feeds. We are not currently certified organic, but we do farm in accordance with the organic certification guidelines.
We, Nick and Hilary Moore, took over Maplelane Farm in 2009. It had been farmed organically for over 30 years by the time we arrived. Our farm is located near Lanark Village in Lanark County, in the Ottawa Valley, amidst the rolling hills of the Lanark Highlands. This means that our soils are sandy, with the Canadian Shield not far below. Diversity is the spice of life, and so we maintain that diversity on our farm enriches the soil, the plants and the animals.
We raise organic pork, a few layer hens, vegetables and honey plus hay to feed our pigs and Winnie and Zeus, our Suffolk Punch workhorses. We feel it is important to be open with our customers about our farming practices as well as the economic realities of our operation. If you have questions, you need only ask.
Our vegetables, pork and honey are available at the Almonte Farmers Market, or from the farm by arrangement. Pork can be reserved by the whole or half animal, or by the piece. If you would like to pick something up, please contact us to make a date.

Our farm is located in Middleville, ON about 40 minutes outside of Ottawa. Chef Natasha LeBlanc and her husband Brian Faraday grow non-certified organic fruits, vegetables, and herbs. Natasha uses her culinary skills to create high quality preserves. We strive to connect local farmers and craftsman in the Lanark County. We rely on Springdale farm maple, Misissippi Berries, and other small farms to supply what we are unable to produce ourselves. We have also partnered with Stalwart brewing co., Calabogie Brewing co. and Top shelf distillery. We have done this to create an exciting line of preserves which are enhanced by craft beer or alcohol.

Calling all veggie lovers, I’m in a veggie mood this month! With spring in the air it’s time to lighten things up. I’ve curated a variety of dishes that are light, satisfying and packed with flavor. New this month are blended & baked oats for breakfast. If you’ve never tried these you are in for a treat. The oats are blended into a fine consistency and baked with the extra toppings inside. It eats like a cake but tastes like breakfast. These are so good you could even eat them as a healthy dessert! Next, is a healthy and absolutely delicious maple tahini lentil veggie salad you can take to work. Who doesn’t love a little meal prep? Last, both mains can be eaten fresh or frozen and reheated for a later date. Who doesn’t love getting ahead? Especially when you didn’t have to do the work! I hope you enjoy this menu as much as I did coming up with it. I’m excited for this one
